Paul Carlson, Co-portfolio Manager, Gunderson Capital Management, has a wealth of investment knowledge and experience which he enjoys using to help clients achieve their goals.
His experience in the markets began 3 decades ago when he started as a runner on the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE). Paul has a passion for the markets. This is evident in his advancement to Risk Manager at the Goldman Sachs subsidiary Kessler Asher Clearing. All the while Paul was furthering his formal education in the evenings at Loyola University of Chicago, where he earned an MBA in Finance.
Paul has been an independent trader (seat holder) at the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) where he traded the US Treasury yield curve. He was also a market maker in gold and silver futures. Paul has managed his own portfolio of assets for decades and has monitored and managed risk for hundreds of clients and market professionals.
Paul loves working with clients. He displayed this while working for more than a half decade at TD Ameritrade subsidiary thinkorswim in Chicago. There, he helped clients understand their portfolios of stocks, bonds, options, and futures. Paul also educated clients on options strategies and asset correlations.
He has held the following registrations: Series 3 (futures), Series 7 & 63 (Securities). In addition, he has been a Registered Options principal Series 4 and Registered Municipal Securities Principal Series 53.
